Rayong — U-Tapao International Airport partnered with the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) to welcome a flight of as many as 400 Russian tourists on Wednesday, December 28th.

The Red Wings charter flight carrying Russian tourists was grandly welcomed with a water cannon salute as soon as the carrier touched the ground in Rayong province of Thailand.

TAT and U-Tapao officials along with performers from Nongnooch Garden in Pattaya greeted the tourists coming from Moscow and gave them flower garlands to wear around their necks as a gift and blessing for their time in Thailand.

A water cannon..... if Putin is one of the arrivals place the cannon in his mouth and open the tap full blast.

"and gave them flower garlands to wear around their necks"..... for Putin, replace the garland with a rope with a noose.

So whose is returning on these flights?

those landing are pro putin west hating draft dodgers been facilitated by special immigration visas and thai banks setting up individual accounts as seen in the immigration office and any bank branch around pattaya

I was in the bkk bank office recently it was rammed with russians opening accounts

I would suspect its mainly freight of sanctioned electronic components for Russian arms industry

Shame on you thailand

They are from the middle class. Russia is the 6th biggest economy when measured in purchasing power parity. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries_by_GDP_(PPP) The same kind of middle class tourist from anywhere else.

I was actually surprised how many  Iranian young men I ran into in Pattaya in the 2010's. Even they have a middle class. There's only one real closed country these days. Thats North Korea.

"There's only one real closed country these days. Thats North Korea. "..... don't  be fooled. China is a closed country in that it only allows its people to do what the gov't allows them to do. People are monitored daily as are their social media accounts and movements. If they say or do the wrong thing they disappear. Sometimes never to be heard from again. It has happened to powerful men running major companies in China that the gov't wanted to reign in.

I think Russia can be fairly accused of liquidating influential dissidents.

I'm not trolling. Just making a point you happen to disagree with. Grow up.

You made an unattributed claim and when challenged you responded with a personal attack. It isn't me who needs to grow up.

You claimed to know my state of mind and false claimed what it was. Unequivocally a personal attack.

I feel similar... I want them further isolated. Not only bringing abject misery to the people in Ukraine, but they have brought the fear of nuclear war back to the world, not seen since the Cuban missile crisis. Their actions (or lack of others reactions) also seem to have emboldened China in their belief they own everywhere.

Now we got them strutting shirtless all over the eastern seaboard and places south! And Thailand applauds them in like liberators!

These are innocent people from Russia. If the plane was filled with Govt officials including Putin I'd agree with your assessment.

Believe me they're not innocent ....   Russia only has murderers or cowards.

And I can't even get a reply to emails sent to U-tapao website.

There will be innocent people there correct and there will be some Russians who do not agree with the war in Ukraine. However this has been going on for 10 months. Most contract troops can leave of take a break after 6 months. The murderers, and convicts that Wagner recruited and continues to do so from Russian prisons also only have to fight for 6 months before getting a full pardon and going home.

To say they are all innocent is stretching it.

That's an unfortunate comment. There are mothers and daughters and babies and students and grandparents and so many others that don't fit into your critique. The world has too much hatred in it already. Most of it is unwarranted. Please be careful with your comments that paint too many with a broad brush.

I never said they are all innocent but the families and the hard working fathers and mothers and innocent children who make up a large percentage of the population cannot be held accountable for Putin's nasty war. He's dying and wants his name written in the history books. That's why the war was started.

Yet your comment says something else as I pointed out. That plane likely does not contain all innocent people
