Thailand’s top ten fake news stories of 2022

The Ministry of Digital Economy and Society (DES) has named the ten top fake news stories of today (Monday), all of which were widely circulated on social media last year.

 

  1. Chew three ripe papaya seeds each day for one month without drinking water can help cure terminal cancer.
  2. The Aphelion phenomenon, when the Earth is at its farthest point from the Sun at 90 million kilometres, will cause the Earth to be colder than normal.
  3. The Thai Food and Drug Administration loses a court case over its order for the Pfizer vaccine manufacturer to disclose details of the side effects of its COVID-19 vaccine.
  4. The National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission (NBTC) has ordered the suspension and blacklisting of the use of the cell phones of numerous subscribers.
  5. Do not scan the QR code on parcels sent by post, otherwise deposits in your bank accounts may be wiped out.
  6. Nine storms will hit Thailand between August 22nd and 28th, which will cause heavy flooding in Bangkok.
  7. Do not take paracetamol tablets written with p/500 as they may contain the deadly Machupo virus.
  8. The Thai Ministry of Public Health has issued a warning for people to suspend all activities and stop travelling, because of the spread of a very dangerous variant of the influenza virus.
  9. Do not get COVID-19 vaccinations, as they may result in death.
  10. N-Dro care mouth spray can kill viruses, bacteria and other germs and can protect against flu, reduce infection and prevent coronavirus from infecting the lungs.

Exactly, I thought that everything from Prayut and Prawits mouths was Top 10 fake news.

Fortunately for them they have an abiding "news" circle that is quite supportive and numb along these lines.
