LittleBear57 285
My daughters UK passport runs out before her 16th birthday (4 months). She has a Thai passport. I would like to renew her UK passport here in Thailand after her 16th birthday so she can have a 10 year one instead of the child's five. Will probably do it in October as she will be off school then and free to travel to Bangkok. Has anyone done this before and can anyone see a problem arising from being here in Thailand. nikmar 8220
just recieved my 15 yo son's first British Passport. Took about 4 weeks which was a surprise as they quoted 16. if it's a renewal then I cant see how you will have a problem. I also renewed my own. https://visa.vfsglobal.com/tha/en/gbr/hmpo - these are the guys who deal with everything - their contact details are here. https://www.ajarn.com/blogs/bangkok-phil/renewing-a-uk-passport-in-bangkok - I followed this advice.
PPGuy 212
I delayed renewing my son's UK passport (by about 2/3 years) until he was eligible for a 10 year passport. He had a valid Thai passport and the fact his previous UK passport had expired was not a problem when the 10 year passport was applied for. This was about 8 years ago but don't see any recent changes that would impact on a similar decision now.
