A Pheu Thai MP has demanded that party leader, Chonlanan Srikaew, investigate an allegation by a lawyer that a former deputy prime minister in the government of Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra had an extra-marital affair with the wife of another man.

Yutthapong Charassathien, deputy leader of the Pheu Thai Party, said today (Sunday) that he had approached the whistle-blowing lawyer, Sittra Biabungkerd, seeking information about the allegation made on social media.

Sittra, however, only hinted that the deputy prime minister in question was in the Yingluck government and did not provide any more details.

I wonder if the extramarital contortions may have taken place in the spacious backseats of a pink Bentley...

Did the owner of that car demonstrate to his three sons how to do that?

Deputy prime minister! could literally be anyone there are thousands of them ????

"Adultery? In Thailand? I'm shocked." - Capt. Somchai Renault exclaimed.

Next they'll be telling us there is gambling, and prositiution happening in the Kingdom.

Time to disband the PTP I guess.

Why investigate?

It is illegal to have an extramarital affair?

The Law governing "Politcal Parties" is massive, extensive and covers all sorts of potentially disqualifying activities, including extremely general things like "offending the sensibilites" of the public. So yes, it can be but maybe more of a Civil (political) matter than a criminal one?

Why's this an issue, top bloke here has a few more than his wife

Infidelity!............................WOW! ????

I know a man who was sued by his wife for a fling with a bar girl.  The offended wife sued for 5.5 million & the girl for 500K.

So infidelity IS illegal?

Or another cause of action?

(What happened with the wife's lawsuit)?

Would have liked to have watched.

After a swig of ear medicine anything goes apparently

charlatans hypocrites…!

Sounds like a normal day in Thailand, where 2 wifes and a gik or 3, seems to be the norm, among those who can afford it.

Next.

and...?

Unless this person (could be female) is running for PM, who really cares?

People do it here and around the world all the time.

This is someone that is going to have a hard time getting elected attempting to draw up some media hype for himself.

Oh, they are experts at that mate.

What! Adultery by public figures in Thailand? Cannot be. Thailand is an extremely conservative society.

Why worry about this.

There are Sooo many Thais that have Second & Third  Wives/Husbands/ Giks/Faens  everyone knows and don't care.

Here in the village theres one that sticks out a bit more then the others.

First and Second Wive and husband are working together .

No big deal.

an extramarital affair is not a sex scandal.

But anything can be used to blackmail, even less trivial reason.

Very likely that former deputy is banned from public office for 10 years, so there might be many years more, say 2025, before he can run for elections
