webfact
Thailand’s Ministry of Industry is seeking cooperation from the Ministry of Interior and the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment to curb the illegal burning of sugarcane in 15 provinces, which is contributing to the increasing air pollution. According to the Industry Ministry, 29.81% of 15 million tonnes of the sugarcane crop were burned between December 1st and January 31st, which is equivalent to burning of 240,000 hectares of forest. Panuwat Triyangkulsri, deputy permanent secretary of industry, said that the burning of sugarcane is the major generator of PM2.5 dust in the atmosphere in Bangkok and several other provinces. IF they were really interested in stopping burning they would send a notice to every governor... "If burning continues in your province you will be removed. immediately" form your position. The people doing the burning will receive a huge fine and suspended one year jail sentence. Anyone transporting burnt sugarcane will receive the same. Any factory receiving burnt sugar cane will be closed down, and the owner/owners jailed for one year. It would stop overnight.
Popular Post mikebell
Why not form a group of professionals to raid farms that do this? They could wear a brown uniform and be known everywhere as the BIB; a force for good. Once the burning has been stamped out they could then turn their attention to the roads to save more lives. 3 1

Why when they could just sit around doing nothing all day and still get paid??
