Prime Minister General Prayut Chan-o-cha’s “good guy” mask will be exposed before the next general election, members of the opposition said during the censure debate on Wednesday.

The motion is expected to last until midnight on Thursday night. It is the last grilling before the current House of Representatives term ends on March 23 and the election is slated for May.

“This government’s nickname [that was given by the press] was the Mask of a Good Guy and the opposition will show the real identity of the people behind this mask,” said Chonlanan Srikaewm the leader of the opposition.

Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha has responded to Opposition MPs’ allegations of economic mismanagement, loss opportunities and money by Thailand and poor performance during his administration on the first day of the general debate Wednesday.

The prime minister cited various mega infrastructure projects, implemented between 2015 and 2019, such as the Bang Pa-in-Korat, Bang Yai-Kanchanaburi and Pattaya-Map Ta Put motorways.

On rail transport development, he said that, in 2014, before his administration, there were about 4,000km of rail services covering 47 provinces, most of them single track and only 357km of dual track.

Most of what happens in Thailand is behind a veneer of some sort and the current Czar Muppet is as much of a veneer that you could possibly get.

Strip it away and it's all rotten underneath...
