Ra Bo Pai police in Prachinburi in central/NE Thailand and Ruam Katanyu rescue services were called after a head on collision between a Toyota Vigo pick-up and a Honda Wave motorcycle on the Ban Ra Bo Pai Road in Nong Prong sub-district.

The authorities found a badly damaged pick-up with a burst tire and the bike on its side.

Kiatsak, 44, was behind the wheel of the pick-up.

Saifon, 45, a tomboy from Phetchabun was lying in a pool of blood from a head injury and despite CPR was pronounced dead at the scene, reported Thai Rath.

Piyathat, a passenger in the Vigo said that they had been following a vehicle carrying wood for some distance before the collision with the oncoming bike.

The body was taken to hospital for autopsy.

Police are investigating the cause.

ASEAN NOW notes that around 80% of all road traffic fatalities in Thailand are people on motorcycles.

While some posters are questioning the necessity to reveal the deceased sexual orientation this poster has chosen to use it as cause of death !!

Only on ASEANNOW ????

Copied story from Thai Rath news, Asian now rely on other news outlets, do they even have one reporter?

Riddle me this - What the hell difference does the sexual orientation of a motorcycle fatality victim have to do with --- anything???  ????

I know a number of short-haired, small-breasted women who don't wear makeup in our village.  None of them are "Tomboys."  If you looked at old pictures of my wife in her youth you could say she looked like a Tomboy.

So - in the opinion of the on-site reporter, the victim "looked" like a Tomboy.  What difference does it make?
Call the wrong woman a Tomboy and you could end up in a defamation suit.

So who was trying to overtake the truck? sounds like the pick up driver from the full story, and as we all know, drivers here tend to tailgate before overtaking with no clear view of what is ahead. just more bad driving IMO nobody cares in Thailand to do anything about it. Helmet or not, hitting a pickup head-on, riding a motorbike will most likely cause death.

Perhaps the truck decided to pass the wood bearing vehicle on the shoulder and a motorcycle just happened to be using the shoulder in the wrong direction.
