The death of a 49-year-old Uyghur asylum-seeker in Thailand has prompted pleas from rights groups to find a humane solution to the plight of around 50 Uyghur men who have been detained for nine years.

Aziz Abdullah died after he collapsed in the Immigration Detention Centre in Bangkok where he was being held.

He was part of a wave of more than 350 Uyghur asylum-seekers who fled from Xinjiang in western China in 2013, and were detained in Thailand.

China denies committing crimes against humanity against Uyghur Muslims and other minorities in Xinjiang, where human rights groups believe more than a million people have been held in a vast network of what the state calls "re-education camps" in recent years.

Is this the same IDC in BKK where everybody (including the overstayers?) are stuck while waiting to be deported? As I remember one Hungarian died few years ago (similar like this guy, Doctor said "he was okay" before he died), and also one young American (or Brit?) before him died under very suspicious circumstances, it was in the news.

I'm loving the irony here. The Beeb is crying about China forcing the Uighurs to do something against their will but ignores the fact that when Muslims take over the first thing they do is force everyone to do things against their will.

eg. getting blasted awake at 3:45 AM by the loudspeakers whether you like it or not. Complain and face a world of hurt. And that's just Jakarta which was Islam Lite when I had the misfortune of staying there in the late '90s.

PS. Nice Islamic State salute there from the horde ☝️

Just going to get worse for Thailand. They can saturate the internet with fluff all they want. It's not going to help now.  Things are deteriorating to a point of no return with China and the US and other allied nations. And the leaders of Thailand are all in with China.  What a total mess.  Interesting to watch in the next few months what will happen.
