Crime Grandfather’s Suspicion Find Woman Fatally Attacked, Husband Found Hanged
Picture courtesy of Matichon. An incident has unfolded in Saraburi province, where a grandfather’s concern for his granddaughter’s safety led to the discovery of a murder-suicide involving his daughter and son-in-law. At around 16:30 on 11 June, Pol. Lt. Col. Chuchet Anantasalong, Deputy Chief Investigator at Mueang Saraburi Police Station, along with Pol. Lt. Col. Sompong Pomkaset and rescue personnel from the Sawang Rattanatrai Foundation, responded to reports of two fatalities at a residence in Moo 4, Takut Subdistrict, Mueang District, Saraburi. Upon arrival at the two-storey home, police discovered the body of a 45-year-old man, Mr. Sayan, hanging from a ceiling beam. He worked as a local sugarcane juice vendor. Nearby lay the body of his wife, 38-year-old Ms. Wasana, who had suffered multiple deep cuts to her arms, legs, torso and neck. Ms. Wasana was employed at a gift shop in Robinson Lifestyle Mall, Saraburi branch. Investigators noted that the neck wound was so severe it had nearly severed her head. Mr. Sayan’s body had been taken down from the beam by his father, while Ms. Wasana’s body was removed from the house by relatives. According to Mr. Jamnong, the father of Mr. Sayan, “I visit my son regularly. On the morning of the incident, I saw him behind the house preparing sugarcane. He didn’t seem upset or out of sorts.” Mr. Tawee, the father of Ms. Wasana, recounted his own concerns: “In the morning, I was behind my house making fishing nets near the fence. When I came for lunch, I thought it strange that their house was quiet and no one had left for work. But I didn’t suspect anything yet. “At 16:00, I realised no one had picked up my granddaughter from school, which was very unusual. I went to check their house. The back door was locked and the front door was too. I looked through a window and saw my son-in-law hanging from the ceiling. I shouted for help and broke down the door. Inside, I found my daughter on the floor, lifeless, with deep slash wounds. Her head was hanging due to a deep cut in her neck,” he said, visibly distressed. Mr. Tawee added, “I never imagined he would do something like this. He was a kind, calm man who treated us like his own family. He even made Ovaltine for me every morning.” Initial police investigations suggest that Mr. Sayan likely killed his wife before taking his own life. Relatives indicated the couple had ongoing marital issues and that Mr. Sayan had grown increasingly jealous, suspecting his wife of infidelity, though no solid evidence of this has emerged. Pol. Lt. Col. Chuchet stated that forensic officers are continuing to collect evidence at the scene. “We are committed to uncovering the full truth behind this tragedy and will proceed with the investigation in accordance with the law,” he said. The perfect pronoun for me. I wouldn't think of ever trying to get it for free. Too problematic. -
