You need separate wills.  One for your Thai assets and one for your UK assets.

The question was, what information do witnesses need to provide, along with their signature, presumably to prove their identity. If you don't think they need anything  apart from a signature, that's y

  • No because it was witness at the time of writing the Will.

The most important thing in relation to organising Will(s) is the full details of the administrator (In Thailand ) or the executor (in the UK and I suspect other countries).

For example -if you live and die in Thailand and have assets in the UK -who advises the executor.?

Unless that person is alerted -then probate will not occur.

That person will also require a death certificate-with an official translation. who -in Thailand is going to organise that?

Plus the UK based executor must have sufficient funds to pay for a probate lawyer. Possibly this cost can be paid for from the estate of the deceased.

You need to leave instructions with a trusted person/persons about who to contact - and ideally in your personal papers.

The will template I used for the UK had it written in that the executor could pay for help required and that cost would come out of the estate.
