Pattaya — A school director accidentally crashed his sedan into a 56-year-old man and killed him on the spot at 7 AM this morning, March 5th. The driver claimed the victim ran in front of his car.

The tragic accident unfolded on a road leading to Pattaya at the front of Soi Banglamung 1 in the Rong Po sub-district of Banglamung district. The victim, only identified as Mr. Wit, 56, had been crashed into by a sedan while he was crossing the road and passed away due to severe head and body injuries, according to Sawang Boriboon rescuers.

A white Toyota Yaris sedan was found parked about 20 meters away from the deceased man, with a cracked windshield and crumpled hood. The driver, identified only as Mr. Pichit, told rescuers that he is a school director in the Laem Chabang area. He was bringing his friends to the Banglamung district.

I hope he was tested for alcohol and check if on the phone

School Director those guys gET so much money it’s unbelievable they worst in the police OK some money given to a relative. Nothing will happen TIT

Many stories online about the rich killing the poor, nothing happens.  The person still alive (rich) has the ONLY story with some compensation for a speedy trial.   He's a pillar of the community, and parents will say, "Great person!!!"  The homeless man?  Well, usually not good connotations; however, I'm sure there are tons of levels of homelessness.  Maybe used to be rich, education, down on his luck recently?  or maybe homeless forever and in-and-out of jail....

Because pedestrians are regarded with disdain, particularly it seems by Bangkok drivers. Had experience of it yesterday......

I imagine they checked his status and connections before that

Pedestrians crossing roads anywhere in Thailand are disliked by drivers.....nothing is allowed that makes them slow down !

A nightmare weekend  with crazy traffic and not a single cop on duty to help at congested junctions.

Thais are easily distracted but, to be fair, could happen to any of us. Horrible experience for the driver.
