Pheu Thai rejects joining Palang Pracharath in next governing coalition

The opposition Pheu Thai Party will not join the Palang Pracharath Party to form the next government, even if it fails to win in a landslide in the upcoming general election, party leader Cholnan Srikaew told supporters at a campaign rally held in the northern province of Phitsanulok on Sunday night.

Cholnan’s statement is seen as rebuffing an earlier offer by General Prawit Wongsuwan, leader of the Palang Pracharath Party, that he will try to end the political polarisation which has beset Thailand for more than a decade.

The opposition leader told the audience at the campaign rally in Bang Rakam district that, if the people support the Pheu Thai Party in achieving its goal of winning up to 310 seats in the next parliament, they will not join with any party associated with dictatorship.

Sounds more like Cholnan is saying that if Pheu Thai fails to reach 310 seats, it will join up with any party associated with dictatorship.

So don't be surprised.

does that mean they already know the P (Prayut) P (Prawit) Party will win.... not surprised, it's all been worked out in the back room(s)

Positive feedbacks from the grassroots could have emboldened PTP to make this strong statement. Also MFP recent announcement that they will water down demands on the sensitive laws regarding LM signal that they may work with PTP to form a coalition government. PTP by making this announcement will pacify the red shirts that the party denounced dictatorship and will not get onboard with PPRP. Something that the red shirts have fought hard and will likely to win their votes. I think PTP and MFP will take a sizable majority to offset votes from the Senate and form the next government.

Well, that settles it. Pheu Thai will be dissolved before the election.

Too many innocent and romantic types would be surprised to learn that they all derive from the same club.

Imagine that.
