I've checked on all of the 'deals' that are being offered and it's frustrating, here on the airasia site: air asia 'deals' it says flights are B199 from BKK-CM but they're not, they're actually just over B3,000 for a return ticket...

Now I'm not so stupid as to think I'd get a flight for B3(as advertised by Nokair) or B199(advertised by airasia) but I do find it a little bit offensive that the 'deals' being offered are complete bullsh1t :o

Why are these lies allowed?

Check the air asia site in the link above and tell me where I can actually purchase the ticket for that price, any ticket!

Yes, there's quite a lot of deceptive advertising in Air Asia and worse, Tiger Airways websites. For example, Tiger Airways does not include (and does not tell) the Baht 700 BKK airport departure tax in its "Taxes and Fees" which it will collect at the airport check-in counter. Only Jetstar Asia is upfront with its costs.

Sorry to piss on your chips like but every mid week flight I did a search for Bangkok to Krabi in Sept. was costing 199 baht!

It's one way and before tax of course but otherwise it is still very cheap.

Edit: Likewise for Chiang Mai aswell!

My chips taste a bit pissy now..

After further investigation I am now inclined to agree with you. A 400 baht fuel supplement on a fare of 199 baht is a bit much. It is safe to say that we have all come to expect paying airport tax on top of a "base fare" but when it comes down to having to pay an extra fuel supplement which is double the basic fare.. now that's farking cheeky. There shouldn't be such a thing as a fuel supplement anyway as all that should be calculated into the basic fare..

Misleadimg? Yes, but it got you to the website didn't it and I imagine that these airlines rely on that sort of thing, by the time you've spent 10 minutes or so looking and trying to choose you just think sod it I'll just book that one. I know I do :o

Thai Airways has a promotion until September 30, for 1,200 THB, excluding taxes and service charge, meaning it should come to 1,755 THB I believe total. It is a very restricted ticket, unlike THAI's regular ticket, but then Air Asia and Nok Air are also very restricted tickets. Probably not any cheaper, but just another option for you to consider.

Yes, but where are those 3 baht Nok Air tickets?

Simple answer is there isn't any. How can you get away with blatant lies in advertising. Even in the paper it does say excluding fuel surcharge etc etc, so there isn't a 3 bht ticket anywhere. Why can't ALL airlines come clean & display the TRUE price with what we have to part with ?

Rant over !! :o

We had the same problem in Australia until earlier this year. Some travel companies were stating a price (excluding taxes and charges), others were displaying the full ticket price.

It is now illegal to not state the full price, including all taxes and charges.

Now you can make valid comparisons.

Hopefully, one day (holding breath and turning blue in the process), Thailand will do the same thing.

I got quoted a price to the US from a Thai travel site where the "tax" was half again the price of the ticket. So much for a bargain. :o
