Scott
President Joe Biden's plan to wipe off or reduce student loan debt is backed by the majority of Americans, according to a poll conducted exclusively for Newsweek. Biden's debt forgiveness plan delivers on a campaign promise that would cancel $10,000 in federal student loan debt for those making less than $125,000 or households with less than $250,000 in income per year. Pell Grant recipients would get an additional $10,000 in debt forgiven. https://www.newsweek.com/joe-biden-student-loan-plan-huge-boost-poll-1787145

Money not spent on loan repayments will be spent elsewhere, driving growth at the bottom of the economy and increasing tax revenues. 1 1

Congress also has to increase the debt limit to pay for the trillions that were added to the debt during the Trump presidency. 2 1

Similarly, money not budgeted by the government for this plan will be spent elsewhere. Either in lower taxes or on more worthy programmes. This seems so simplistic. To the students: you took out a loan. Pay it back. What is so hard about that? 1
