Breaking his silence on Donald Trump’s legal troubles, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis on Monday criticized the Manhattan district attorney who is pursuing charges against the former president and vowed his office would not be involved if the matter trickles into Trump’s adopted home state.

But DeSantis, a rising rival for the 2024 Republican presidential nomination, stopped well short of offering support for the former president and instead seemed to poke fun at the situation Trump has found himself in as he attempts a political comeback and a third campaign for the White House.

A grand jury is in the final stages of determining whether Trump should face charges over an alleged payment to adult film star Stormy Daniels related to a supposed affair.

Many folks on some of the conservative sites aren’t happy with the 2028 hopeful!

Making a belated lame response about Trump and Danials was ill advised!

The former Potus is under attack with indictment by our political adversaries ,the left . That being said Mr D would of scored political points if he condemned the dems and Bragg more while sighting Trumps name instead of his weak rino response !

Former President Donald Trump went scorched earth

What does this mean? Scorched earth has no meaning other than being earth damaged by fire. How does it apply to a report about Trump? If it means something other than earth damaged by fire, why not say so instead of saying something that means nothing?

Reads to me like Trump is needling the fake news media more than he is needling DeSantis. And he is right. If Ron gets any traction in the Presidential race they will start attacking him with all sorts of made up nonsense like the collusion hoax, peepee dossier and on and on and on.

Ron's comments about Soros were bang on the money. Just incredible that such a destabilizing and malevolent force goes un-noticed or discussed.

Oh the ‘Soros’ thing.

A dog whistle to anti semites.

https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/scorched-earth:

directed toward victory or supremacy at all costs : RUTHLESS

https://grammarist.com/idiom/scorched-earth-policy/

Today, the idiom scorched earth policy refers to any ruthless strategy that includes destruction in order to achieve a goal.

https://www.idiomsandslang.com/scorched-earth-tactics-policy-etc/

ruthless, extremely destructive

Get the idea?

Ron desantious response dident seem like anything other than a very tepid cowardly dance around the core issue because he’s obviously terrified of any backlash to me personally it displays a flaw in his character ie cowardice he certainly doesn’t have the proper character to lead this great nation in my humble opinion

In your eyes Trump's a squeaky clean all-around good guy, and not the POS human he appears to be?

Although I totally agree with you, anybody with an ounce of common sense would much rather sit on a cactus while petting a skunk that run afoul of vulgar-mouthed Trump.

If someone is ruthless why not say 'ruthless'? Calling ruthlessness scorched earth makes no sense at all to me. Just my opinion.
