FORMER DEFENCE MINISTER Thammarak Isarangkun na Ayutthaya is helping Palang Pracharath leader Prawit Wongsuwan with his electoral campaign for Isaan constituencies which could possibly otherwise be swept up by the Pheu Thai camp.

 

Thammarak, who had performed as defence minister during the time of a Thai Rak Thai government under deposed prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra about two decades earlier, confirmed today (Mar.22) he has decided to join in the Palang Pracharath electoral campaign for all 20 northeastern provinces because he ultimately agreed with Prawit’s “step beyond conflict” attitudes.

 

Thammarak said Prawit who is contesting the general election as sole partisan contender for prime minister had called him on the phone asking for his help which he willingly agreed to provide.

Just how will this actually occur as Prawit is not directly Running for the PM position by a constituency vote, unless he is also running for a MP spot somewhere which I have yet to see.  The PM is not elected by the citizens he is installed by a jury oops cohort of his peers of which the senate is in the pockets of his party..

This whole issue is pure speculation and the headline makes it seem like it already has occurred.  It is this kind of rhetoric which dissuades folks from even going to the polls.
