Nato condemns 'dangerous' Russian nuclear rhetoric

Nato has condemned Russia's "dangerous" and "irresponsible" rhetoric after Vladimir Putin's decision to station tactical nuclear weapons in Belarus.

 

The organisation is "closely monitoring" the situation and said the move would not lead it to change its own nuclear strategy.

 

The US said it did not believe Russia was preparing to use nuclear weapons. Belarus shares a long border with Ukraine, as well as with Nato members Poland, Lithuania and Latvia.

Let me see if I have this correct.  Putin directed a special military operation (invasion) into Ukraine because they wanted to join NATO and he didn't want NATO troops or weapons stationed near his border.  But now he intends to station tactical nukes in Belarus, basically a client state, that has borders with 3 NATO countries.  No hypocrisy to see here then!

It’s not going to make any difference Imo just Putin making noise he knows what’s going to happen if he uses them,he’s losing allready if he uses a tactical nuke nato will jump in and roll up his cannon fodder of an army and he bloody well knows it

Russia already had delivery systems that can reach anywhere on the globe, placing nukes in Belarus is simply a show.

Yes.

 

Mind you, they also had a world beating state of the art Main Battle Tank in the shape of the T14 "Armata".

 

Until it had to be towed off the parade in Red Square by a recovery vehicle!
