Thai Rath went to investigate after an online "drama" - as they are known in Thai - blew up in Chachoengsao, central Thailand.

 

It resulted in a female motorist going to the Muang District police to claim that someone at a noodle shop put a screw in a bottle top under the wheel of her car damaging the tire after she drove off.

 

The shop were angry that she had parked in front and been about an hour in coming back.

 

But the owner of the noodle shop has turned on the waterworks saying it was none of his doing.

 

Reporters went to see Pornphan, 40, who said she stopped outside Bammee Paet Rew.

A woman came out of the noodle shop immediately and said, you can't park here.

 

She said she wouldn't be long, she had some business to attend to opposite.

 

She said she got some dark stares from the woman and the owner, a man.

 

When she came back "about half an hour later" she got some more fierce looks.

 

She drove off and soon realised there was some kind of plastic scraping noise. She admitted that she likes to drive fast.

 

She didn't dare stop and managed to get all the way home when her car was inspected and the screw in the bottle top found.

She said at first she just shared the story with friends and didn't identify the shop.

 

But soon she became aware that the same thing had happened in that area to many other people.

 

She then went to the police to file a complaint.

 

Reporters went to the shop when they met owner Prawat who said he may "give people the eye" sometimes when he's grumpy about them parking outside his shop, but he would never do as the lady claimed.

He said the lady had been over an hour and this kind of parking was difficult for both his business and that of his customers coming to the noodle shop.

 

But on the question of his guilt, no way.

 

The shop was actually shut and was part of a "tham bun" ceremony that inspired Prawit to tell the media about his 13 years of unblemished business.

 

As he fought back the tears.

The old story of shops believing they own the road and Thais parking with little consideration....

It is either allowed that she park there or not.......

Always a good idea to explain your motive, claim that it wasn't you, and then start crying like a guilty child who's realised they have just ****** themselves.

Having seen how they abandon cars with engines running, double park or just block a road entirely whilst they just nip into the market for a 'few moments' .........I have some sympathy for the shop owner.............empathy would be a good topic to introduce into their schools curriculum.

Not clear if it was shut when the lady parked there or when the reporters went there.

Shop owner shoulda had some chairs out to block parking.

 

but yeah, I call <deleted> on the plastic scraping noises allegedly heard and that screw in cap could have been picked up on any part of her drive home.

Never mind, the lady pay her tax for using the road. Question is, does the owner of the shop pay any road tax?

The shop owner wins , she won't park outside his shop anymore ,

from the owner and his wife's reaction when she first parked

there, it's pretty obvious ,he did it , and has probably done it

before , the road outside their establishment is theirs to a lot

of business owners , and defend it ......

Assuming he owns a car or bike.. then yes most likely he does pay road tax !!

It happened to me.

Not much of a screw really. Chachoengsao must be a pretty quiet place.
