Finland to officially join NATO on Tuesday

The Nordic nation, which shares a border with Russia, applied to join the military alliance in the wake of Vladimir Putin's invasion of Ukraine last year.

 

It is the first enlargement of NATO since North Macedonia joined the alliance in 2020.

 

The announcement was confirmed by NATO Secretary-General, Jens Stoltenberg, who said the move will make Finland and other members "safer".

Both of whom have no interest in collective security, but see it as leverage for their own political advantage.

 

Both countries have leaders, of dubious democratic provenance, who wish to strengthen their own internal positions.

Great news. Alot of egg on the face of the Russian gangster, king vlad. Looks as if everything he thought he might accomplish with this zany invasion, is going belly up. 

 

If there is one thing the Ukraine invasion taught us, it is that vlad was not nearly as smart as many of us thought. Like Trump, he is just a very talented criminal. The major difference is vlad has the opportunity to unleash his inner psychopath, and cause alot of terror and mayhem.

Again this is very good news as Finland is a strong country that has many miles of border with Russia. I only hope they will all fight together if Russia attacks

With today’s long range weapons it doesn’t matter how long a border is as proved in the 2nd World War, just bomb the hell out of a country as Britain did to Germany and the USA did to Japan.

I hope so. I am glad they got in.  Putin likes to invade between the application and the approval.   I hope we can mark Finland safe -- and the rest of the world.
