Is Aurora gold recommended?

Featured Replies

Hi, I'm looking to buy gold, but I heard that the locals do not recommend Aurora as it cannot be sold back to other shops.

Does anyone know why this is so?

Thank you.

I don't know buy would like to hear. Hue Heng Seng seem to be the premier gold shop chain in Thailand. Hopefully others can advise on Aurora.

I'm no expert, but i prefer them to other outlets

Nicer designs also.

Sorry, I try to Google "Aurora Gold" but then cheese shows up.

What is Aurora Gold?

Surely gold is gold. Does it matter where you buy it?

I was told by several thais that Aurora gold was of bad quality.  I previously bought there then sold it back to Aurora with no problem.

My wife likes to buy gold from Aurora. (Actually she likes to buy gold from anywhere - lol)

We have  had no issues selling gold back to them - but there were 2 occasions where it took them 24 hours to reimburse money to wifes bank account. This was apparently because everything had to be organised by head office - and we don't live in Bangkok.

For variety and quality of product - Wife prefers 'Chin' gold

They probably prefer to buy at the night-market. It is cheaper too.

Tell them only Swiss-gold is true gold ⚠️

Aurora costs more due to the superior workmanship on a lot of it, means you will not get as much back if you sell it elsewhere.

To buy and sell gold, China Town is the only place to go.

A lot of shops I deal with will only buy back their own gold, too many scams out there. Aurora has been fine; I guess it depends on if you're looking to sell it back or keep it long term.
