Hi there!

I'm a New Zealander on a New Zealand passport and I've just booked flights going from Auckland to Kuala Lumpur and then from Bangkok back home to Auckland around 40days later.

I'm going to cross into thailand from malaysia about 35 days before my flight from Bangkok to Auckland, but plan on going to Cambodia for about 8-10days before my flight home.

3 Questions:

- Will I be allowed to enter thailand from malaysia even though my onward flight is booked for over 30 days from my date of entry?

- Will I be allowed to re-enter thailand from cambodia without any hassle to catch my return flight from Bangkok? (Will I need 10,000baht on me? Ideally I wouldnt want to have to withdraw 10,000baht if I'm leaving thailand in 1-2days time)

- Would flying from Phnom Phen to bangkok be a more full proof plan of attack?

Thankyou very much in advance for your help

Jeff

I do not think you will be in any trouble . Entering Thailand from Malaysia I mean . The only place what is known for asking onward tickets is at the Cambodian border , you have an onward ticket back to home , so no problem , just make sure you have it at present , if they ask in case .The 10k you should also have , although it very rear they ask you for it .

You always could change the baht back to another currency when leaving , loosing some cash when changing though ,but better then getting into trouble , which I think will not happen . You are very clearly on a holiday , not ' living in thailand' with no visa . Have a nice trip :o

You'll have no problems getting into Thailand from Cambodia because you will reset your allowance with another 30 day stamp and your ticket will be dated within the new 30 days period.

There is a possibility that you will be asked to show your onward ticket when you arrive in BKK from Malaysia because they have been checking them lately. If they ask you to show it and if they complain about your leaving date, just explain that you intend to make a trip to Cambodia for 10 days during your stay.
