"Seven Deadly Days" begin on the Thai roads - and it's a very busy time for the southern Thai police

77kaoded reported that the police in Muang district of Phatthalung in the south of Thailand had to deal with seven accidents on their patch in the space of an hour yesterday evening.

 

It was the first day of the so called "Seven Deadly Days" of the Songkran holidays.

The authorities are supposed to be involved in accident prevention as well as deal with the inevitable carnage as many people travel at the Thai traditional new year.

 

First off in Phatthalung officers attended an accident in which a Toyota car had hit a large tree.

 

The driver was given first aid at the scene and taken to hospital.

 

Witnesses reported seeing the car travelling fast when another vehicle came out of a soi causing it to lose control and hit the tree.

Just as officers were wrapping up this accident ten minutes later they were dealing with three injuries after a car went through a red light and hit a Fortuner.

 

That happened just 400 meters away.

 

Ten minutes later there was another then another accident to deal with and from 5.40 PM for the next hour they dealt with seven accidents.

you only have to read the above to see just how ignorant many thai drivers are and ignore the road rules, they dont give way and just pull out, they run red lights, it is all ignorance/arrogance and their thinking that they can do as they please

Same as any other driving day.

*Enter car, ignore seat belts.

*Pull drivers seat as far foward as possible, (knees must be clamped to steering wheel.)

*Place head near windscreen past steering wheel.

*Drive fast (if the speedo has 200k/hr on the face, that is a good yardstick) and ignore what is around you.

What could possibly go wrong?????????

It states that a vehicle emerged fro a road causing another to lose control. No! The other driver lost control. Unless there is evidence of this cause then it shouldn't be reported as such. This is just an assumption which is very poor journalism.

Charles Darwin's been dead over 140 years so, unless he's become an omnipotent deity, he has nothing to do with road accidents in Thailand. However, his theory of evolution by natural selection may very well be applicable.
