In an effort to promote safety and prevent violence, officials set up checkpoints around Khlong Sam Road to check for weapons and drunk drivers. The joint effort included representatives from Khlong Luang District Administration, Klong Luang District Police, Klong Sam Municipality, and Khlong Luang District Public Health Excise officials. District Chief Mr. Nitichai Wiriyanon explained that the Pathum Thani Governor had announced a focus on peace and order during the 2023 Songkran Festival, reported Siam Rath. This was deemed necessary due to past incidents of violence during the holiday. In response, Klong Luang District worked with other agencies to ensure safety and enforce the law. Officials focused on checking for weapons and drunk driving, resulting in the seizure of nearly 20 knives and the apprehension of several intoxicated drivers. Youth who failed to carry a driver's license or ID card or wear helmets were also reprimanded. As a result, trucks carrying water were not allowed to play in the area along Khlong Sam Road after 6:00 p.m. -- © Copyright ASEAN NOW 2023-04-15 - Cigna offers a range of visa-compliant plans that meet the minimum requirement of medical treatment, including COVID-19, up to THB 3m. Here in Pattaya I see every day very many without helmets. The government could make so much money and improve the safety.
