April 20, 20233 yr https://www.gov.uk/alerts In case those of us with live giffgaff or other roaming UK SIM cards need to brace ourselves for loud siren-like sounds coming from our mobiles at 9pm next Sunday.
April 20, 20233 yr Don't think so, the alert is supposed to be specific to the broadcasting mast, rather unlikely that those in Thailand will be alerting.
April 20, 20233 yr Yeah ^^^, that's my understanding too, it is supposed to trigger even foreign mobiles that are connected to the tower. "I don't want to know why you can't. I want to know how you can!"
April 23, 20233 yr Well I never received this UK alarm message despite having a UK sim loaded in my dual sim phone. Did anyone else get the message here in Thailand? I normally can receive incoming UK text messages and voice calls without a problem so presume they must have a way of checking your geo-location perhaps.

The message is/was broadcast by the cell mast you are connected to, it is not sent to all SIM's.
