It's the usual pilot studies, exaggerations, etc.  For instance some people could suffer some acute lung damage (hypersensitive pneumonitis) but it's a tiny fraction of users.  Prints even in respected journals are not good evidence.

 

I guess people believe what they want to believe. The court of public opinion want to believe it's dangerous, therefore it is dangerous.
