If the PTP win an overall majority and 376 seats, with or without a coalition, they can simply tear up the current constitution, go back to the 1997 constitution and amend it.

That would solve the senate problem, just dissolve the senate and sack ALL the senators.

If that should happen, I wonder what the self granted amnesty to the coup leaders would be worth?

After all that is what happens with every coup.

Yes. The 1997 Constitution.  And apologies from Pheu Thai for the mistakes made and how it was abused.  And that Thaksin acknowledges he should take a back seat as the country tries to repair the damage done since.

But more people benefitted from that constitution than ANY constitution that ANY coup government ever made.

Of course it wasn't perfect but it was workable and of far more use to the Thai people than the current one.. There was no real time to work the anomalies out of it properly.

In all fairness, not one of the numerous manipulated changes/rewrites of the constitution benefits the commons......nor was it ever expected to in substance.

Serving the usual/traditional ruling elite is the manner in which all oligarchical schemes operate.

Then it must be time for a change.
