my lawyer is getting my documents ready for my non immergrant B visa.

first he told me that i cannot get one on penag and they have stopped issuing them at KL. i would have to go home back to england or singapore or somehwere else.

in that same meeting he completly changed his minde and said it would be ok for me to go to penang.

i hope he is telling me the truth or i will be traveling round the world visiting all the thai embassies probably end up back in england.

better answered in the Visas section, I think BigC. It might give you a broader range of places to go and different experiences than just the Samui forum. Let me know if you want it moved

Go to Penang.

I just got back today with my Multiple Non-B 1 year.

Went with firefly direct from Samui to Penang, the flight take 1 hour 20 min.

The taxi from airport to georgetown is 38 ringit (380 baht), fixed prices.

Go to Jims Place on Chulia Street.

Give him all the paperwork passport, working permit and 2 photos and then sign the application.

He will check your papperwork and will tell you if you get 1 year or not.

This will cost you 580 ringit (5800 baht)

Go back to Jim after two days and collect passport and workpermit.

Tou will have good time to catch the 16.00 plane back to Samui.

Good luck.

and now.... :o

The response above says it. Penang is providing multi entry, as well as single entry, non immigrant visas. But I do not believe a multi would be available without a work permit having been issued first. Normal procedure would be take company paperwork to obtain a single entry - return and extend stay at Immigration if you can meet the requirements - if not you exit for next visa in 90 days and if you have both company paperwork and work permit may be able to obtain a multi entry visa.

To save all the hassles of ifs, whys, but, maybes I just jumped on a plane and went back to the Uk for a week, posted the application for a multi b with sponsorship papers and copy of company registration off to Hull. That came back in 3 days. On return to Thailand I applied for the WP which came in about 2 weeks. Some people may deem it unnecessary to return to the UK, but hassle free and no worries from my end.

sungood, may I ask, WHEN was that ? just recently ? you got a MULTIPLE non-Immi-B there ? not just a ONE ENTRY non-Immi-B?

I knew it was very easy to get a multiple in my European home country too, but I am not sure if its still the same as before.

last time I applied for one, I just did bring them something that was like "recommendation" letter, copy of companies registration, copy of the ID Card of the managing director (a Thai) and that was all. I did not have any work permit and I dont have one know (as several things didnt go as planned)

this consular office (which luckily is located in my home town) did not even have a look at all the papers, just asked "u want a multiple?" "yes" "okay". I handed over the money, and after 3 minutes I was out on the street again....

I really wonder if its still the same and WHERE its still the same.....

Can recent visa applicants confirm the advice on New Non B Extension Regs (http://www.thaivisa.com/extensions/new-non-imm-b-extension-regulations.html)

"photographic evidence is now required when making the initial application to extend the Non Immigrant "B" visa . When making the first application for an extension the applicant must also supply photographs of every employee at their place of work. This will come into effect on 16th May 2007"?

Is this photographic evidence being requested? Is the requirement consistently applied at all Embassies and Consulates?
