Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha, the United Thai Nation (UTN) Party’s candidate for prime minister, has called on voters to think carefully before casting their ballots, cautioning that electing the wrong politicians could have disastrous consequences for the country.

As part of his election campaign, Prime Minister Chan-o-cha visited Tha Pla district to drum up support for the UTN candidates running for three constituency seats in the northern province. Thousands of residents turned out to greet him.

The three UTN candidates vying for the constituency seats are Pimnattha Jiraphuttiphak, who is contesting the 1st Constituency seat; Rosarin Sarankate, seeking the 2nd Constituency seat, and Saranwut Sarankate, who is pursuing the 3rd Constituency seat.

Addressing the gathered crowd, General Chan-o-cha said: “We are fast approaching the election, and I would like to encourage everyone to think carefully before casting their ballots, as a single misstep could steer the country in the wrong direction.”

This of course is providing certain generals are not already doing this ............................LOL

Cannot vote unless you are a Thai national or citizen. BTW

Many government officials tend to be/become self-serving.  In a democracy that should be enough for impeachment or removal from office.  Of course that never happens.  Why?

And no doubt so as to encourage the maximum amount of wisdom on polling day the sale of alcohol nationwide will be prohibited for all and sundry (including non-participating foreigners, of course) from 6pm the day before, as has been the case for previous elections. After all, we can't run the risk of having individual voters commit VUI, can we?

Whereas having prospective candidates terrorise their local neighbourhoods with over-amplified campaign caterwauling emanating from multi-megawatt sound systems mounted on slow-moving cruising pickups (as has, unfortunately, already started to happen in my neck of the woods) is, on the other hand, cheerfully and gleefully tolerated - nay encouraged - by the alcohol prohibitionists.

Yes that does not happen, because only an opposition would impeach/remove a politician. And they don't have the power to do it. If they would have the power, they would do it all the time without reason. A flaw in democracy....It doesn't work in the west and not here.

He is is right... vote wisely that means don't vote on anyone involved in the last Government... Changes are so needed to help the country forward and with only old conservative MP's there will be nothing changed and the  country will never go forward

The people will vote wisely. They will choose to oust you with a vengeance. You have over the course of 8 interminably long years shown them over and over again how spectacularly unworthy you are, and how atrocious a leader you are. You are the very worst of Thailand and the last thing the nation needs is more of you.

Go find a boy scout camp to run. Stop preying on the people.

Vote wisely! And this coming from Dear Leader himself, the man who staged a coup, clung on to power ever since and more or less ran the Thai economy in the ground, while at the same time corruption flourished like never before. That is quite an achievement, something to be really proud of.

So by all means, do vote wisely, and don’t vote for this fool!!

People voted wisely last time but you still, through moving the goal posts and with support from your trough feeding mates in the sentate (bet this cost a pretty penny baht) ended up PM against the will of the people.

Well, it did happen in one way or another, but only to red side or pro-democracy politicians. Not to the yellow-green side which controls the judiciary and semi-judiciary.

He's absolutely correct... look at the last 8 years.

Weren't voters given a similar warning before the 2011 election?
