Jenkins9039
Have quite a lot of mountain land with rivers etc (streams) passing through. Considering setting up a Hydrogenerator and establishing some bitcoin miners Anyone came across any fairly decently sized hydro-generators in Thailand? Encid
The major active hydropower plants in Thailand are Lam TA Khong, Bhumibol Dam, Sirikit, Srinagarind Dam, Srinagarind Pumped Storage, Vajiralongkorn, Rajjaprabha, Bhumibol Pumped Storage, Pak Mun, and Bang lang. Lam TA Khong is the largest hydropower plant in terms of total capacity. The cumulative capacity for hydropower in Thailand was 3.5 GW in 2021. Lantern
AFAIK There is very little available "over the counter" in most of the world. You could try getting hold of a "Home Power" magazine from the USA or join the "Back Shed" forum. The problem is that most units are built/ designed to be site specific.
Crossy
What sort of head and flow rate are you seeing? Restricting the flow / damming is almost certainly illegal or would need a permit (even on your own land), so you may be looking at low-head hydro. As above, there's very little hardware available off the shelf so it's likely DIY job. The key equation to remember is the following: Power = Head x Flow x Gravity Where power is measured in Watts, head in metres, flow in litres per second, and acceleration due to gravity in metres per second per second. The acceleration due to gravity is approximately 9.81 metres per second per second.
Crossy
Maybe something like this, no dam etc. required, just flowing water https://www.smart-hydro.de/renewable-energy-systems/hydrokinetic-turbines-river-canal/
