The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) is recruiting one lucky explorer to travel around Thailand for four months and document their adventures. The chosen “Tourist of Thailand” will receive 504,000 baht in spending money for their trip, travel vouchers, and other prizes.

The TAT’s job advertisement reads…

“Do you want to travel all over Thailand for free? It’s not hard! Just submit an application for the position of “Tourist of Thailand” and prepare to travel the country!”

 

The chosen tourist’s responsibility is to travel around the country and create content promoting tourism. The tourist is required to create at least one social media post – a picture or video – every day of their trip.

 

The TAT will provide the tourist with 504,000 baht in total (126,000 per month for four months) to cover all of their expenses.

So in actual effect, looking for a lackey that will say, write and document what TAT will tell him/her to do, what different it is from what they have now i ask?

126K per month would help with my electricity bills, a bit.

could a hi-so get by on only 126k per month? that's only 4,200 baht per day, that's not going to get you a ritzy hotel suite and VIP transfers.

What is the point of pushing this news if the applicant must be Thai?

I do wonder whether other countries also get vloggers to come and film in their country.

 

No coincidence that the usual youtube rabble in Thailand were all heading to Japan, Phillippines, etc at the same period.

Wait are there not already daily Vlogs by a multitude of tourists or expats extolling Thailand.  Why not hire one of them to do the job, I mean there are so many already doing the job.
