New travel rules: Thailand’s ETA to shake up visa-free visitors
What is not true? I really only have experience with K-ETA. The Japan thing and Singapore is optional prior to boarding. I have an ETA from Australia. I don’t know much about it my company made it for me and it attached to my profile. Whenever I fly a plane to AUS or deadhead there they check it. I would never travel there for personal travel -

Must Read Its Happening - Law to Tax Overseas Income Now in Progress
Taxing worldwide income would be a game changer for all wealthy expats(most people not relying on a pension) currently residing in Thailand. Not being taxed on worldwide income is really the main benefit of Thailand for wealthy retired people, or those who have offshore business income, whom have a choice to live almost anywhere in the world. If enacted, this law would hit the Thai real estate market fairly hard as it makes the country far less attractive compared to Southern Europe and a number of other countries. TRD better think twice before they scare away a huge amount of foreigner investment and consumption. -

I'm cheating on my wife and I can't help it.
I think 3 jumps a day is not nearly enough. You should go up to the double, as that will make you have less time to think and feel guilt. -

About the high class hotels
What does an 8000 baht room do? Nothing. Go hire 2 women and stay in a 800 baht room. Or go catch a balloon. -

What was your job (profession) when you moved to Thailand
I didn't ... that's why I quit about 30 jobs. Some lasted a week, or a month or 2 or 6. One lasted 1 day. One of the reasons I was self employed a lot of the time. Along with getting my work week down to 2 'full' days a week, with 5 off to actually make money or simply chill. I did work for an airlines (4 actually) after all, and used them flight bennies a lot. -

If everyone benefits from raising taxes, why not at taxes on everyone? It seems greedy to raise them only on the rich. -

Must Read Its Happening - Law to Tax Overseas Income Now in Progress
I do not see any problem with this new law. Paying tax to Thailand for stays over 180 days is not the same as double taxation. To avoid any mistakes with the documents (Thai language) I chose to use a lawyer. (cost me 7 000 thb.) She arranged a tax card and bankstatements. She sent all the necessary documents for me to the authorities. In return 10 days later I received 2 documents. 1) "Income Tax Payment Certificate" R.O.21 and 2) "Certificate of Residence" R.O.22. Next, I paid my tax to Thailand. And sent R.O.21 & R.O.22 to the tax authorities in my home country. Which then registered my new information. Long story short, I got back the difference between paid taxes in Thailand and my home country about 6 months later. The long processing time is my only point of complaint!! (I ended up with approx + THB 161.000.)- 1
