These notices come in the wake of an expected influx of tourists visiting Phuket from May 4-7. Phuket is anticipated to draw significant numbers of visitors due to the Coronation of King Maha Vajiralongkorn, which occurred in May 2019. In addition, the Cabinet approved May 5 as an extra holiday to encourage domestic tourism during this period. Natchaphong Pranit stressed that with an increased number of tourists visiting Phuket’s water attractions and coastal areas, adherence to safety rules is crucial, reported Phuket News. Among the safety regulations highlighted are the requirements for all boats to be registered and not carry more passengers than allowed. Boat operators should also be mindful not to exceed the safe number of people on piers and pontoons when boarding and disembarking. Peterphuket Posted May 4, 2023 Posted May 4, 2023 This is the first time in 25 years that I have read this warning....is something going to happen then????
stevenl Posted May 5, 2023 Posted May 5, 2023 Quote These notices come in the wake of an expected influx of tourists visiting Phuket from May 4-7. Looks like the expected influx didn't materialize. Quiet with boat tours today and yesterday, also next days don't look busy.
