Recently, Phuket Immigration welcomed participants of the 27th Senior Judiciary Executives Training Course (Bor.Yor.Sor.) for an insightful study visit. Under the guidance of Mr. Kanchit Wongthai, Secretary-General of the Institute of Civil Servant Development for the Judicial Branch, the group explored the Phuket Immigration Office to gain a deeper understanding of its mission and responsibilities, reported Siam Rath.

During the visit, the attendees observed a variety of services provided at multiple stations, such as long-term stay extensions, tourist stay extensions, retirement services, visa applications, reporting services for migrant workers, inspections of individuals and watercraft, investigations, management and oversight of detainees, and welfare provisions for retail establishments and Punrak Cafe, all in line with the Police Commander's policy.

Following the tour, Pol. Col. Thanet Sukchai, Superintendent of Phuket Immigration, showcased the best practices implemented by the Ministry of Public Health and Immigration Office. The participants demonstrated keen interest in two specific projects:

1. The White Accommodation Project for foreigners: This innovative initiative focuses on monitoring foreign residents by consolidating data into a comprehensive dashboard. The project's success can be attributed to the collaboration between government agencies across all sectors and the assistance of local hosts in supervising foreign residents. This effort has played a significant role in transforming Phuket into a safe, sustainable, and world-class tourist destination.

2. The Foreigner Blood Donation Project: Established in response to the Rh negative blood type crisis (a rare blood type in Thai people, but more prevalent among foreigners) during New Year, Songkran, and other extended holidays, this project organizes blood donation drives for foreigners at Central Phuket when blood supplies are scarce, ultimately helping to save lives.
