The 2023 General Election witnessed the highest voter turnout in Bangkok’s history. According to the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA), over 74% of eligible voters cast their ballots in the election yesterday.

Representatives from the BMA announced the unofficial election result from 6,360 polling stations in Bangkok in the early hours of this morning. Out of the 4,479,155 eligible voters, 3,339,664 exercised their right to vote, which accounted for 74.28% of the total voters. Among the total ballots cast, 1,191,989 were valid, while 48,694 ballots were invalid, and 98,981 voters rejected all candidates.

Furthermore, the BMA also revealed an unofficial top 10 party-list Member of Parliament (MP) in Bangkok. The top 10 included Move Forward Party (MFP), Ruam Thai Sang Chart, Pheu Thai, Democrat or Prachatiphat, Thai Sang Thai, Chart Pattana Kla, Thai Liveral or Seree Ruam Thai, Bhumjaithai, Palang Pracharath, and Thai Pakdee.

According to the unofficial result reported by ThaiRath, the top five party-list MPs for the entire country were MFP (13,479,745 votes), Pheu Thai (10,315,469 votes), Ruam Thai Sang Chart (4,476,464 votes), Bhumjaithai (1,079,766 votes), and Democrat (872,795 votes).

Today BKK is orange. Not just the sky. A complete trouncing for Prayut and his military croneys.  If he does't go BKK, Issan and the North will errupt.

Very good, indeed. One can only hope that this will be a turning-point for the country, where the old dinosaurs from all sides are tossed out and a new generation with higher morals takes over.

Wishful thinking, but let's hope.

The girlfriend lives bangkok and now she is chuffed MFP are the winners there

Hope he and the elite behind will come to their senses and not provoke up-rise and violence.

Of course they have all the tricks at hand (EC, constitutional "court").

The official result will be announced by the EC within 60 days of the General Election.

Plenty of time for shenanigans.

If the EC decide to try to kill off MFP Bangkok will not tolerate it for long.

Not long at all and rightfully so. The people have had a gut full and if these military megalomaniacs and if seize power from a massive and indisputable people's vote against them trouble will ensue. Of this I have no doubts. Blood will be spilt.

Do they equate eligible voters with registered voters? Less than 5-million voted in a country of greater than 60-million people. The largest turnout ever? I realize that many are under voting age, but that few voted? Hmmm…

It would seem they have awakened and in a massive way. This 'movement' cannot and will not be stopped.

These vote numbers referenced in the article reflect Bangkok voters only…not all of Thailand.

60 days that's a very long time, more than enough time to find and/or fabricate what they want...

hope Prayut and his cronies know that and would avoid any potential unnecessary challenging or unrest will happen

Looking at the latest news Pita says he is forming a 6 party coalition making 309 MP's. He will be the next PM of Thailand. I can't see the 250 lackey's having any other choice but to accept the outcome and the mandate given by the people. To do so would have massive negative consequences for this country.

It is likely due to the people being sick and tired of Prayuth, his phony pledges, his lack of talent, and an end of the role of the horrible army, in politics. Enough, said the people.

Now, they have to figure out a way to get rid of the remnants of army rule. The 250 super corrupt senators appointed by an army utterly desperate for power. They must go. They have a obligation to resign, or they must be removed.

Titter ????

Well, it was Abhisit and Suthep at the helm when the Democrats gave the army permission to disperse the red crowds with live ammunition.

Later , some democrats followed Suthep onto the streets for his shut down Bangkok protest which Suthep claims he and Prayuth orchestrated to justify a coup.

Now they are reaping their just desserts.  People now fully understand that merely calling your party Democratic means nothing. Everyone now knows that the Democrats and the army are bed fellows.
