Myanmar puts troops on alert after Pita’s statements

If any new 'democratic' administration cowers to the west, and starts a proxy war with Myanmar, I'd welcome the generals back to take charge again.

 

Hopefully no FTA with the USA either, as both wouldn't be good for TH.

Could it be that Thailand needs conscription because with so many generals there is not enough soldiers for them to share around. Or without conscription the generals would have to pay for their own servants.

It seems that Thailand has at last got a government with some balls to confront the Burmese military thugs and support the freedom fighters. I hope they will also condemn Putin's murderous invasion of Ukraine and once again we will see Thailand respectfully treated as one of the responsible countries of the world.

Interesting indication - the generals across the border are getting scared too - right so! Maybe the Thai dinosaurs should all congregate in Naypiyadaw, declare the latter a separate country and leave Thailand as well as Myanmar in peace ....... wishful thinking? Well, we shall see ????

This is not the first time that I have said that Thailand is, for many of a "certain sort" of Westerner, what South American countries were, after the Second World War, for a "certain sort" of German.

Previously rather difficult for Free West to give direct materiel support to the resistance.

 

Whereas China has direct land access to Myanmar and covets access to Indian Ocean.

 

Chinas huge change from Regional Suzerainty to Global Ambition also makes Myanmar a greater area of concern for the Free West (and India) than it was.

 

Ideological changes in Thailand may modify the situation.
