Bangkok Launches Campaign to Combat High Diabetes Risk

BANGKOK (NNT) - The Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) has launched the "Diabetes-Free Thais" campaign to address the high risk of diabetes among city-dwellers. The campaign, established in 2022 by the Diabetes Association of Thailand and Merck Thailand, aims to raise awareness about pre-diabetes conditions and the importance of early detection and treatment to slow down the progression of diabetes.

Grab driver accuses Phuket taxi drivers of deliberately puncturing his tyre

It seems the Phuket “taxi mafia” are at it again, with a Grab driver claiming taxi drivers stationed at Patong’s Tri Trang Beach Hotel deliberately damaged his car. Phuket’s taxi cabal have conducted a decades-long war against any additions or alternatives to public transport in Phuket with a protectionist racket that regularly bullies any new competition.

The deputy leader of Move Forward says the party remains insistent on getting the House Speaker post, despite Pheu Thai wanting it. Sirikanya Tansakul says her party needs the post in order to get 45 draft bills over the line, having promised voters to do so.

Bangkok seeks 90 billion baht budget approval for green spaces and pollution projects

A man in Uthai Thani province, Thailand, shot and killed his 35 year old wife after arguing over food preparation, before surrendering to the police. The couple’s child was left distraught, asking who they would live with following the tragic incident.
