Importing personal belongings
Don't do it. The import duties and tariffs can be a big hit financially. A friend of mine, without doing any research, did just that 6 years ago. Shipped all his gaming equipment, PC's etc.. Got hit with a $10,000 charge at Fedex. Don't do it unless you know exactly what the import duties will be!! -

Accident Man Falls Through Roof to His Death While Making Repairs
Picture courtesy of Amarin. An incident marred Labour Day celebrations in Udon Thani on 1 May, as a 47-year-old man fell to his death while repairing the roof of a warehouse damaged by recent storms. Police Lieutenant Sorawisit Meepian, Deputy Inspector of the Mueang Udon Thani Police Station, received a report of a fatal fall at a warehouse in Ban Nong Kep 4, Na Di Subdistrict, Mueang District. Emergency services and forensic staff from Udon Thani Hospital, along with rescue personnel from the Sawang Methatham Foundation, were dispatched to the scene. The deceased, identified as Mr. Prajuab Silakhwa, was found with severe injuries including a fractured left arm and leg, and a fatal skull fracture. Preliminary investigations found no signs of foul play, and authorities have since released the body to the family for traditional funeral rites. According to Mr. Poramet, the warehouse owner and a relative of the victim, recent heavy winds had damaged the roof of the storage building. With calmer weather on the morning, he had contacted Mr. Prajuab to carry out repairs. While on the roof, Mr. Prajuab reportedly moved quickly, possibly due to the intense heat from the sun and a desire to finish the job swiftly, stepping onto a brittle tile that gave way beneath him. He fell approximately 12 metres to the warehouse floor, dying instantly. Adapted by Asean Now from Amarin 2025-05-02. -

Crime Myanmar Worker Arrested for Stealing Nearly 1 Million Baht in Cash & Gold from Fellow Labour
Lets say the victim is paid 400 Baht day and saves 300 of it. Works out to about 9 years of toil and along time to have accumulated wealth stuffed under a mattress. Hard to believe, IMHO he was into more than hard labour and the accused knew about!
