Can you tell me the source of this figure?

There is no source. It was a hypothetical question. Hopefully, the future will reveal the extent of his crimes. Neither Prayuth nor the Thai army are known for their integrity.

So much for the "Move Forward Party" Starting off by dwelling in the past. Pathetic.

That won't exactly endear Prayut's senator friends towards supporting Pita!

Don’t get too cocky. Just look at what happened in Myanmar. I’m sure the junta there will be very pleased to help out their Thai colleagues if needed. The people can want whatever they want and have elections and whatnot, but if the military decides otherwise, the people won’t get it.

Despite the wet dreams junta lovers are having over the situation in Myanma, they will forever be disappointed when they discover that it just ain’t gonna happen here

It’s over.

The good guys won.

More than likely. Fingers crossed.

Yet, the good guys will be on continuous shaky ground until the bad guys are banished. A feat that might prove to be an uphill battle.........as the bad guys lurk in the shadows and have influential support.

Nonetheless, best of fortune to the good guys.

Pita Limjaroenrat and many others let it happen, so they are the same as Prayuth

Not to mention lots of guns, tanks and soldiers. And the army has proven many times that they are more than willing to open fire on their own citizens.

I really hope the army’s days of staging coups and hanging on to power are numbered. But the army has always been a tool of the elite to help protect their interests. They will use it again if they feel threatened.

To be sure.

Nothing will come of it.

In any case, Pita and his circle will require permission to proceed with such a proposition.

All requests will be denied, naturally.....

They already have the required permission from the voters.

Not gonna happen.

That Pita noob needs a lesson as to who runs this country

It is the military, the yellow shirts and the royalists who need the lesson as to who runs the country.

What happened in the past was history, and, IMHO Pita has learned from it.

It is the military, the yellow shirts and the royalists. who have not listened and learned.

......and some still don't get it.

stole the country? :omfg:

What do YOU call a military coup, if it is not stealing the country at the point of a gun?

He was duly elected unlike the current mob.

Not just once, but twice. The second time with an overall majority.

His party has the most seats - they won.

All recent Thai governments have been coalitions (including Prayuth’s).

Who set up the Asset Scrutiny Committee?

https://www.bangkokpost.com/learning/meaning/assets-scrutiny-committee

ASSETS SCRUTINY COMMITTEE
MEANING 1:
Assets Scrutiny Committee - a committee set up after the 2007 coup to investigate wealth obtained illegally by politicians - คตส. (คณะกรรมการตรวจสอบการกระทำที่ก่อให้เกิดความเสียหายต่อรัฐ )

Articles found:
Bankers get 18 years in prison, no Thaksin ruling until return to Thailand (27/08/2015)
Amnesty bill: Court will axe it, expert says (04/11/2013)

What a surprise.

The ASSETS SCRUTINY COMMITTEE was set up by the 2006 government in 2007.

Who has the guns, makes the rules in the third world

Pita and co should enjoy the sunshine for a few years...the army will be back in the first crisis (real or engineered)

The First World [whatever that is] as well.........especially within this realm.

Nobody knows the actual level of corruption, nor the real crimes committed by the army goons. They likely stripped the treasury bare. They need to pay. Lock up Prayuth, Prawit, Phiphat, Anutin and the others.

Depends how you define the 'need to pay' I think their accounts should be frozen as should their families and supporters then redistributed to the country they have plundered

More than that in order to break the coup cycle they need to swing from a lamppost for the crimes they have committed, for what they have done prison or exile is not enough...

Probably a Thai reporter put words into his mouth and asked if Prayuth would be held accountable by Thai society. Pita did not say anything about this on the campaign trail and there is no detail here of how it would happen. If he answered that there should be no accountability, that would also be considered controversial.

Lock the little runt up...

Indeed.

Thais have a reputation of passing on and avoiding controversy.

Especially, if there's something to gain from the act.

So you're saying that all law breakers should be given an amnesty?

Seems to be a common occurrence!
