I like to do some Holidays in Thailand(Bangkok and Koh Samui) with my Thai Girl Friend in August this year.

The problem is i am 32 years old and she only 17.I dont know to much about Thailaws and not know if there are Problems with the Hotels and with the Law when i take a room with her.

Her parents know of this and are fine with it.Next year i will marry her in my country when she gets 18 in february.

It would be really nice if we could do this but i dont like to have any problems.

If someone know something accurate to this then it would be a great help for us.

But if it would be a any problems with some Thailand Laws then we have to wait till next year with this.

I hope someone can help us with this.

Her parents are fine with it now, but what happens when you get in a disagreement?

I'm not one to make a big deal about age differences, but this isn't a woman, it's a high school girl. Let her grow up first.

I wouldn't advise any 32 year old man to go on holiday with a school age gf.

Although Thailand's age of consent is usually said to be 15, the laws can be interpreted to allow prosecution for sex with someone under 18.

I remember somewhere the test that a maximum 19 year old man could marry down to I think 14 or 15?

For the ages 15-17, I think with parental approval any maximum age is ok, but not sure.

Well I'm sorry Neeranam but I disagree. I am not that much older than the OP and the 17 year olds that I know are stlll kids in my eyes. I have no idea why anyone in their thirties would want to date a teenager.

I would have thought there would be a poblem from the hotels perspective. The rules here would make it difficult for them to provide accommodation.

I can see all sorts of problems here, especially since I'm assuming the OP is a falang, not a Thai citizen.

I just hope that the OP doesn't decide that he wants to stay in Thailand and get a job teaching school kids.

Most Thai hotels seem to only require personal details from the one person booking the accommodation, so the issue of the girls age shouldn't arise unless she appears to be very young.

If it's a genuine relationship and you are together with the parents permission, it probably wouldn't hurt to get something in writing from them to produce for interested parties.

Although 17 does appear a bit young for a 32 yo, I guess she's only a matter months away from the 18 yo's that many expats find in Thai bars and even marry.

I think TV laws do not allow age gaps to be over 10 yrs as well.

I believe having a sexual relationship with anyone under the age of 18 in Thailand, being an adult yourself, is illegal. If you're not having sexual relationships with her, just get her a 2nd room at the hotel. If you are, you should slap yourself in the face with a brick and jump out of the window now.

I would have thought that a holiday with this young woman would be the last of your worries, first and foremost should be how to address the issues within your life.

You seem to find this young woman very appealing, but on a mental level is she very mature, or is it you that is very immature? You need to open your eyes my friend and get real, that is if you’re not just on a windup?

Finish school when u are 16 in the UK unless going to uni. Prob legal - just curious where does the op from and his gf? It does have some bearing on the matter.

I can't believe you are suggesting that an Asian 17 year old is more mentally mature than a Western 17 year old, quite the opposite I would think.
