A lorry driver miraculously survived after losing control and crashing his pickup truck, loaded with corn, into a tree in Thailand‘s Prachuap Khiri Khan province. The driver, 27 year old Patinya Muangsri, was unharmed during the incident, while his girlfriend sustained a minor injury.

The accident occurred along Phet Kasem Road, near kilometre 314 in Nong Bua Village, Kho Lak, Mueang district of Prachuap Khiri Khan. Upon receiving the report, Royal Thai Police and Sawang Prachuap Foundation Rescue arrived at the scene to investigate and provide first aid assistance.

The vehicle, a white Toyota Hilux Revo pickup truck with license plate ผข 3102, was laden with sacks of corn. After the crash, the vehicle was found overturned in the middle of the road with its front side heavily damaged. Corn cobs were also scattered around the area.

A female passenger, seated on the left, suffered a minor injury to her right shoulder but declined any further medical support. The driver, Patinya Muangsri, from Surat Thani, escaped without any injuries. Upon inquiry, he admitted that he had been hired to transport corn from Nakhon Ratchasima to a market in Nakhon Si Thammarat.

Going to take a completely wild guess here and say that the accident happened due to mass overloading of the bed

So the protective spirit allowed him to have a major accident but then saved his life. Methinks the protective spirit thinks he's an ok bloke but useless at driving so best to find another career.

About as over-loaded as you can get.

No sign of a sticker in the windshield though... he was taking a chance on such a long journey.

Very lucky escape, not wearing a seat belt, dozed off, even after stopping not long before for a rest, one slight steering correction would tip that overloaded truck, that's why they normally sit in the outside lane, to risky to change lanes front wheels barely in contact with the road. Just another normal day on Thai roads. :coffee1: PS that looks more like a pick up truck than a LORRY as the headline states.

If you look at the photo, there is a truck driving on the wrong side of the road, past an accident scene I presume past the cops, flashing lights etc. with impunity.

A-maize-ing Thailand!
