Suvarnabhumi Airport’s SAT-1 terminal set for soft takeoff in September

Suvarnabhumi Airport in Bangkok is set to soft launch its Satellite Airport Terminal 1 (SAT-1) in September, with a full opening planned for early next year. Airports of Thailand (AoT) president, Kerati Kijmanawat, stated that the new 216,000-square-metre facility, with a capacity for 28 aircraft parking bays, aims to address existing issues at the airport.

Seven men nabbed for allegedly stealing stones to make Buddha images

Residents around the Samila Beach area in Songkhla reported a decline in the green mussel population stating that it’s had a negative effect on the community who rely on them as a source of food. Small-sized mussels remain unsuitable for consumption, and it is estimated that the population requires further growth before harvesting is possible.

School students and passengers injured in truck and car collision in Nakhon Si Thammarat

20 people, including school students and passengers, were injured in Nakhon Si Thammarat when a truck crashed into a car and fell into a roadside ditch. The incident occurred at 7am today, on the Nakhon-Ron Phibun road in Chang Sai sub-district, where the truck experienced critical damage, and its right rear wheel detached.

Woman confesses to cryptocurrency scam involvement after husband’s suicide

A 31 year old woman named Priyanuch was arrested today, in connection with an online investment scam involving cryptocurrency trading. Upon interrogation, she confessed that her husband had encouraged her to open six bank accounts for the scam, and he later took his own life after learning he was wanted by authorities.

Thai cyanide serial killer: Big Joke hands over case reports

Deputy national police chief Surachate “Big Joke” Hakparn announced today that the case reports against the alleged Thai cyanide serial killer Sararat “Am” Rangsiwuthaporn will be presented to prosecutors this week. Big Joke made the statement during a visit to the Correctional Institution for Women in Bangkok’s Bang Khen area, where Sararat is currently detained.

BTS hopeful that BMA will repay the first 20 billion baht of debt soon

BTS Group Holdings (BTSG) is optimistic that the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) will be able to pay the first 20 billion baht tranche the 50 billion baht owed to the BTS for operational costs and maintenance of the two Green Line train extensions.
