Johnson continues to cry foul - but it's the relatives of COVID victims that'll be nauseated by his protests

Boris Johnson has done everything he possibly could to discredit the Privileges Committee's report on claims that he lied to MPs over partygate. But so far he has met fierce resistance.

After declaring war with allegations of a "witch-hunt" and kangaroo court", his latest attack was directed at committee member Sir Bernard Jenkin, after a report that he attended a party that broke lockdown rules.

In a letter to Harriet Harman, who chairs the committee, Mr Johnson said if Sir Bernard broke the rules he was no longer a "valid judge" and was guilty of "flagrant and monstrous hypocrisy".

Amazing. Blair didn't face this much scrutiny over the WMD lies.

Boris has a bit of cake at a party and everyone loses their mind. We get it, he's an arrogant toff and he doesn't like to follow the rules. But he didn't invade another country, he had a slice of cake and maybe a glass of wine for god's sake.

The parallels between Johnson’s response to being held accountable with ANOther former national leader being held accountable are striking.

Attacking the institutions of Government, Democracy and Justice with almost exactly the same language and an equally shrill level of whinging and whining.

And of course lying through his teeth.

Who don't you name this other former national leader to which you refer?

Oh that's right, because the thread is nothing to do with him ????.

It's about the man who finally got Brexit done. The man who handled Covid extremely well.

The man with no luxury motorhomes on his mother in law's driveway.

That's the problem. Brexit was not done. He put the country in limbo.

Yes it WAS done. Not as hard as I would have liked, but done nonetheless.

And the UK economy is doing better than expected. Avoiding recession.

Better than Germany in fact. Which is in recession.

As the Eurozone gradually moves into recession.

The issue is not the COVID virus.

From the start I have always said that Bojo and others running the country behind closed doors at No.10 should not have been subjected to the laws outside No.10 during a pandemic and should be immune from prosecution.

Surely there some threads on the subject of Brexit or the UK economy?

We were discussing Johnson's achievements (Brexit) and failings (Cake).

Do try to keep up dear.

Probably not - nobody is talking about it, nobody is suffering because of it, countless businesses haven't ceased trading because of it and the majority of the country doesn't agree that it was a massively self damaging exercise of epic stupidity. At least, that's the case if you refuse to accept reality.

Back in reality...

Johnson agrees with you, he’s on a non stop whinging and whining fest just because he’s being held accountable for his own behavior words.

But think how much stronger we would recover if people weren't struggling, and if so much value hadn't been wiped out by brexit.

The absolute brass of this lying entitled freeloader grub and his gang of worthless peerage prostitutes should turn average voters stomachs.

Instead, people will actually pay good money to hear him crap on at sumptuous lunches and buy his next overpriced book.

This is the true definition of a world gone mad.

We have to be really strong about people who are attacking institutions, people who are attacking the House for carrying out its work, people who are attacking the media.”
