Travel agency owner arrested for defrauding customers of 4m baht in European tour deposits

Police apprehend a travel agency owner accused of defrauding customers out of 4 million baht (US$ 115,495) in deposit money for European tours. The suspect, 47 year old Supachoke, was arrested in front of his Thonburi accommodation after a considerable number of victims filed complaints.

ACTIVISTS from various groups joined the human rights watchdog iLaw in holding a rally at Bangkok Art and Culture Centre Friday evening (June 16) to press the Election Commission to quickly complete verification of MPs-designate, Matichon newspaper said.

Supreme Court verdict on former DSI chief and other officials due on July 10th

The Supreme Court has instructed the Criminal Court to read its verdict concerning Tarit Pengdit, former director-general of the Department of Special Investigation (DSI), and three other officials within 30 days. The instruction comes after the defendants have repeatedly sought postponements of the reading of the verdict.

A 43 year old man from Buriram province faces charges for the alleged rape of a child resulting in her pregnancy. The Thai man had reportedly raped his niece since the age of eight leading to her pregnancy at the age of 12. The girl’s mother sought help from authorities, exposing the abuse that had gone unnoticed over the years.

A tragic car accident claimed the life of a 30 years old woman in Chonburi province when her vehicle lost control, collided with a footpath, and rolled several times. The incident took place near a company in the Panthong district, with witnesses providing harrowing accounts of the scene. Meeting of eight coalition parties postponed to June 22nd
