Hunter Biden investigation 'integrity' undermined if just half of IRS whistleblowers' claims are true: Turley

Featured Replies

George Washington University law professor Jonathan Turley warned that if "half" of the IRS whistleblowers’ claims are true, then Hunter Biden’s tax evasion investigation’s "integrity and credibility would be greatly undermined."

Turley told Fox News Digital that Americans "need to keep in mind that allegations are not proof" and that the whistleblowers' claims remain "unverified but clearly worthy of investigation."

However, if even partially accurate, the allegations would hurt the trust in the investigation into Hunter Biden's taxes.

"If half of these allegations are proven to be true, the investigation's integrity and credibility would be greatly undermined," Turley warned. "At a minimum, these are questions that need to be answered."

Fine.

What constitutes "half of an allegation"?

So what does Turley propose?

A Special Counsel to investigate? What? Just the IRS case? Or Hunter Biden's entire life?

To what end? Hunter Biden should pay more in taxes and penalties? Less? No one goes to prison to misdemeanor tax offenses.

There is no trust in the investigation.

Many feel it's just a matter of time until the truth comes out, the left are just delaying justice in the hope it happens after Joe's term finishes. A bit like Hunter's laptop, by the time the truth came out the impact had diminished since the elections were over.

Justice delayed is justice denied.

Johnathan Turley is a serious person. Conservative to be sure, but no crazed partisan by any means. To quote his latest column;

President Biden has repeatedly told the public that he had no knowledge or involvement in his son’s dealings. He maintained the denial despite audiotapes of him referring to business dealings, photos and meetings with his son’s business associates, as well as an eyewitness account of an in-person meeting.

No crazed partisan? Maybe not crazed but very, very partisan. He thought judge Cannon made the right call when she appointed a special master. He thought John Durham made two very strong cases. He is extremely partisan.

Repubs seem to forget they controlled DOJ FBI etc etc for FOUR years and could have brought evidence of probably criminality before a Grand Jury and ask for  indictments right and left...but they did not because they had NO CREDIBLE evidence that a Grand Jury would indict on and they would have looked like fools...

but now oh boy shoulda coulda woulda brought all the massive biden family crimes to light...

Lock her up, Lock him up, Lock them all up.....what a load of BS used to grift $$ from the cult.

I think the problem is that conservatives and neutral observers think there is a reason why the Ukrainians, the Chinese, the Romanians, the Russians and others paid the biden family and their web of LLC and shell companies huge amounts of money for extended periods of time. People do not pay millions of $ unless they expect to benefit from their spending in some way , more-so when they are regular payments which prove it wasn't a one time scam/ripoff.

Do you think people covered in the above paragraph - the logical thinkers that realize these millions of $ were not paid for absolutely no reason at all - are all cult members?

So with all that massive evidence of biden payoffs for years why did the republicans not indict them in the four years from 2016-2020? With all those massive payoffs  for such an extended period of time then of course there must be all sorts of documents, wire transfers, etc that would serve as real  evidence.

Could it be they had nothing but a bunch of conspiracy theories that only cult members would deem credible.  Yelling lock em up is not evidence.

No, that's the essence of a good scam.  People who have been scammed don't want to admit it and continue to throw good money after bad.  Look at the people who send money to "Nigerian princes", or lonely beautiful women they met on the internet.  Heck, look at all the people who voted for Trump twice.

Diminishing mental health is so obvious now, if you are outside the US. His team do well to hide it from the electorate.

Millions of $ may look like an important sum to you, but It's peanuts for consulting and law firms.

Moreover, it would be a ridiculously low price to corrupt someone at the WH level. As Trump and Kushner examples with Saudi Arabia and Qatar have shown, the price of corruption at the WH level is in billions of $, not millions.

I agree. I would too if there  was a scintilla of evidence. Meantime, I'll just leave my pitchfork in the barn.

There are  millions of people who subscribe to the beliefs of the Qanon creed. There are tens of millions who believe that the 2020 presidential election was stolen. I guess that proves that Hillary Clinton drinks the blood of children and that Donald Trump is really still the President of the United States.

You know somebody's got nothing when they use hypothetical questions to make an argument. On the other hand we do know for a fact that Republicans overwhelmingly support an ignoramus and full-blown loo for President.

I'm sure that if there was a scintilla of evidence that was true his doctor would advise him not to run. Until that happens, he's good to go. I was watching an interview with Henry Kissinger the other day about current foreign affairs and he was sharp as a pin. At 100.

I think the electorate are well aware that he is incompetent and mentally declining.

However, he is not Trump. That's enough for many. That's the pathetic state of US politics. The same reason otherwise seemingly logical people on this forum pretend that there is nothing amiss. No wrongdoings. No mental decline. He only trips over because people keep putting things where he is about to walk etc. ????

A very sad state of affairs for a once great country.

Usually once the Irs starts a investigation on ya it was a fore gone conclusion . Over the years watching the events unfold it seemed they the agency had a shield almost immune from being scrutinized . Imop.

After reading the truthful testimony of the  Irs supervisor in charge of the investigation ,its apparent they aren’t in this case of biden. The Doj has designated  themselves all powerful imop.

“When a 90-page  prosecution over tax evasion and false return charges was presented to the U.S. attorney's office in Washington, D.C., Shapley alleged that the Biden appointee for the office had declined to bring charges and that Weiss "had no authority to overrule them."

Shapley claimed Weiss said at an October 7, 2022, meeting that he was "not the deciding official on whether charges are filed" and "shocked us with the earth-shattering news" that the D.C. office "would not allow him to charge in his district."

From the linked article:

"He said some of the decisions made in the case "seem to be influenced by politics," citing an example of DOJ officials having supposedly "dragged their feet" over a request for physical search warrants of addresses in California, Arkansas, New York, and Washington, D.C., in March 2020."

So in March 2020, Trump 's DOJ interfered in the investigation,  in order to protect Hunter Biden.....

Ahem! That's a bit incredible, isn't it?

The Jordans of the Gop party want

to expose it all !

Jordan wants to interview Lesly Wolf who was according to Irs investigation supervisor Shapely , blocking his attempts.

There is "no way of knowing" if evidence of "other criminal activity" existed concerning President Joe Biden or Hunter Biden due to prosecutorial guidance to "limit" or block questioning related to the president, an IRS whistleblower alleged.

Shapley also testified that Wolf had worked to "limit" questioning related to Joe Biden — referring to him as "dad" or "the big guy."

From your link:

"Shapley testified that he, in October 2020, complained that he still had "not been given access to the laptop."

Shapley noted that Assistant U.S. Attorney Lesley Wolf admitted that she did not see the laptop because "prosecutors decided to keep it from the investigators."

It's really shocking to see how Biden's weaponized DOJ was able to restrict the scopa of this investigation!

Oh wait! It was on October 2020! ????
