Hi All

I am interested in making some spare parts for old lamps we restore and also old motorcycles.

Any idea where I should start looking ?

I have done a google search and only got large scale factories.

I need more handicrafts - handwork places

parts are lost wax cast, formed sheetmetal and some pressed glass.

20-50 of each to start.

Anyone have contacts or places to look ?

thank you for your help

I know one guy who do such products. But he is not good in English. Anyway I am not exactly sure what type of a product you are referring at. Could you email me a sample picture?

I misread the title of this thread and came in with my experience of searching for a small set of kitchen scales, not the large, 400 mm diameter scales which appear to be the only ones on sale here in the N.E.

Doh

thanks guys for the help. or at least the confusion that often seems to be around here :o

been searching around for the last few days in Chinatown area (OK between the train station and the river, I guess thats chinatown) anyway lots of cool things being made but not really what I am looking for,

But there are so many back streets that I can be looking for a long time,

thats OK as its something I am not able to do at home ,

Anyway thanks and I am back on the hunt !

your problem here is a common one in Thailand - how the heck to find someone to do X or sell Y without virtually going door to door?

one possible source of info is organisations like the Board of Investment, local Thai consulate, trade and investment expos where I do see occasionally one-off hardcopy english-language directories of manufacturers/exporters. I saw one recently on CD. These list a multitude of small/medium size companies (but not mum/dad concerns). Listings are far from exhaustive and limited to those with the network/initiative/english language skills & no doubt money (for participation fees). Still if you are stuck may be worth walking into your local BOI office, country X/Thai Chamber of Commerce, consulate etc and just asking if they have something like this in a box in the corner to give to you. Good luck
