Kaeng Krachan National Park, Similan National Park and Ao Phang Nga National Park to become world heritage

The Director-General of the National Park, Wildlife and Plant Conservation Department, Mr. Chalermsak Wanichsombat, says a seminar was held to discuss the management of Thailand’s world heritage.

Mr. Chalermsak says the seminar has agreed for relevant units to gather information about Kaeng Krachan National Park in Phetchabun province, Similan National Park in Surin province and Ao Phang Nga National Park in Phang Nga province.

Thailand will then ask the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) to approve the three destinations as world heritage sites.

Mr. Chalermsak says the three national parks have massive forest areas and are rich in natural resources.
