How To 'wireless Enable' My Old Laptop?

Featured Replies

Hi,

I've had a look and can't find an answer to this.

I'm in an apartment block that has free wireless internet, but my laptop is quite old

and isn't wireless enabled.

What do I need to pick up the wireless signal? Can I buy some sort of USB receiver?

What's the cost involved?

My setup:

Acer Travelmate 243x

2.5GHz Celeron Processor

256MB SDRAM

20GB HDD

Has a network card also.

Thanks in advance,

Brian.

if you spend the extra few hundred baht and get one that is on the end of a lead rather than one that plugs straight into the laptop , it will allow you to place it for better signal strength or else you will be moving your laptop to achieve the same result.
