Thai scam gang member arrested trafficking Chinese man

Police yesterday arrested a Thai man for his involvement in a human trafficking operation in of Sa Kaeo. He attempted to traffic a Chinese man from Cambodia to a scam call centre gang in Myanmar.

Lamlukka Police Station officers in Pathum Thani province near Bangkok rescued the 41 year old Chinese man, Liw Haicook, from a highway in the province after he jumped out of a sedan to escape from the human trafficking gang.

The Chinese victim informed police that he lived in the Hunan province of China and travelled to Cambodia in October of last year to work as a chef in a restaurant.

However, Liw was lured into working as a call centre scammer and forced to swindle money from victims in the Cambodian coastal city of Sihanoukville. Those who failed to meet their targets would be subjected to electric shock treatment as a form of punishment.

China took over Sihanoukville by stealth and now run the place as their own.

Look out all the other nationss who are allowing China to buy their way in.

This kind of bait and switch scheme has been going on for ages, usually very naïve and desperate people get scammed. If it sounds too good.....

Always thought of call centre scamming as a tax on the stupid !

There was a Panorama program on BBC about such a scam operation in Sihanoukville where they got women in the US to part with $ millions. The scam workers were Chinese lured to Cambodia as described here.

The despicable dictator Hun Sen allowed and profited from this happening.

Sihanoukville has been completely destroyed by Chinese colonisation.

Vulnerable, not stupid.

Quite a few of Bangkok's most prominent bars in were built with money stolen from British and Australian pensioners.

Wonder how they managed to traffic the Chinese guy against his will across the border.
