webfact
On July 13, an unforeseen fire erupted on a pickup truck brimming with discarded batteries near the HomePro outlet in the Rama 2 district, Bangkok. Picture: Siam Rath As soon as the distress signal was received, local law enforcement swiftly collaborated with the urban Fire and Rescue Department to tackle the emergency, reported Siam Rath. Stationed on the left side of the roadway during the incident was a white Isuzu, bearing the Nakhon Ratchasima tag YB 9588. Picture: Siam Rath A minor fire that ignited at the truck's rear-end rapidly turned catastrophic, leading to the truck's complete combustion. After nearly 30 minutes of relentless firefighting, the inferno was successfully subdued. Suriya, the 46-year-old truck operator, was transporting the discarded batteries to Minburi. A passing vehicle alerted him to the burgeoning fire at his truck's tail end. Despite his quick response with a fire extinguisher, the fire propagated at an uncontrollable speed.
