Popular Post webfact
Move Forward party leader Pita Limjaroenrat told supporters in Pattaya Saturday that he will not allow his party to be ejected from the coalition of eight parties, currently engaged in attempting to form a government. Speaking before hundreds of supporters in front of the Jom Thien hotel in Pattaya, Pita said “I don’t know who wants me to be thrown overboard, but I will not allow it. If a boat leaks, we all must help to plug the hole, not throw people from the boat.” This was his first public address since the Constitutional Court suspended him from performing duties as an MP last Wednesday. mfd101
MFP may not be walking away from the coalition but I fear the coalition is edging away from MFP. Which is sad but (I suspect) unavoidable. Pita/MFP (now) need to focus on the long game ie May next year (death of the Senate as currently constituted) and the next election whenever it's held. 1
Popular Post newnative
PT may or may not eject FF from the coalition but that does not prevent FF members from voting for the PT candidate for PM. If the majority of FF members vote for the PT PM candidate, it's like they are still part of the coalition. What are the other parties who oppose FF, and the Senators, who also oppose FF, then going to do during the PM vote? Will they want to be seen, once again, of voting against democracy, and the will of the voters in the election? Whatever way they end up voting, it's a win-win for FF, in my opinion. 1 1

Just been posted on my Facebook page here in Cambodia 24 July 2023 (for reference): Pita may get another chance for PM post as ombudsmen question lawmakers’ decision against him . The three ombudsmen are unanimously questioning the constitutionality of parliamentarians blocking Move Forward Party leader Pita Limjaroenrat from being renominated as PM candidate. . The Office of Ombudsmen announced on Monday that the regulators have decided to ask the Constitutional Court to see if the Parliament decision last week was constitutional. It also wants the court to suspend the second round of PM voting set for Thursday. . https://www.nationthailand.com/thailand/politics/40029644 .
